Kewill U.S. Customs Applications Accelerate Brokers Use of ACE

Kewill Certifications Eliminate Need for Brokers to
Perform Painstaking Certifications Themselves

Chelmsford, MA. - Kewill (LSE: KWL), a leading provider of solutions that simplify global trade and logistics, today confirmed that its U.S. Customs Brokerage applications, Kewill Customs and Kewill Alliance, are both ACE-certified. The new rule, per CSMS 10-000053, from CBP, on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, eliminates the need for U.S. Customs Brokers to certify, as long as the Customs Broker is using an ACE-certified solution.  This dramatically reduces the time to begin filing ACE Entry Summaries.

Per CSMS 10-000053, a Customs Broker no longer needs to complete the painstaking ACE Entry Filing Certification process, which can take weeks to complete.

Kewill’s Celeste Catano, a TSN ACE Trade Ambassador, who, for many years, has been representing the needs of the Customs Broker, relative to the requirements and design of ACE, says “It is gratifying to see that CBP listened to the needs of the Customs Broker.  By allowing a Customs Broker to file ACE Customs Entries, using an ACE Certified application, it will be a win for CBP and a win for the Customs Brokers”.
